Best attendance apps for field staff in India, 2026

For staff who are never at the same address twice, the base price decides very little. Two things decide it: how many distinct sites you are allowed to define, and what happens to a punch when the network drops. Nine platforms ranked on both, with what a continuous trail costs on top.

The short answer

Check the site cap first, because it is capped more often than buyers realise. Connecteam allows 10 geofence sites on Advanced and removes the cap only on Expert, so a contractor working thirty client addresses must buy the top tier. Our own cheaper bands cap at 1 and 3 locations, which is exactly why this page quotes our Rs 14,999 plan and not the Rs 5,999 one our other comparisons use. Six of the nine publish no site cap either way, so ask.

Only two products here handle a network drop. Shiftelio queues punches on the device and syncs when signal returns, and HROne publishes offline attendance in its Basic tier, which no other competitor on this page does. Everywhere else, an employee at a basement or a rural site who cannot clock in produces an argument rather than a record.

A continuous trail is a separate purchase almost everywhere. Kredily is Rs 50 per user per month and Android only on their own table, greytHR is Rs 140, Buddy Punch is $2. Decide whether you need a route or an arrival before paying for the route: it is a much larger promise to your staff and it is the feature they object to.

What a 25-person field team costs per year, at the tier that actually works

Priced at the cheapest tier that gives a field team what it needs rather than the cheapest tier that exists, which is why Connecteam appears as Expert and Shiftelio as its unlimited-locations plan. Where a seat block applies the row says so. Rupee figures exclude 18 percent GST. Connecteam, Buddy Punch and Clockify publish no INR price, so their rows stay in dollars: converting at today's rate produces a rupee figure nobody is charged.

Sources, per row: Shiftelio from our own pricing page, with the capability claims checked against our own source tree rather than our marketing. Zimyo, HROne, factoHR, greytHR and Kredily from their own India pricing pages read in August 2026, including the stated seat minimums and add-on rows. Connecteam from connecteam.com/pricing read in August 2026 and corroborated against a screenshot of the live page. Clockify from clockify.me/pricing plus its own subscription-plans and GPS help articles. Buddy Punch is approximate: its pricing page returns 403 to automated fetches, its figures come from docs.buddypunch.com, and two direct fetches disagreed with search-cached copies of the same articles by a dollar per user. Ask any vendor for a quote at your own headcount rather than trusting a table, including this one.

Site caps and what happens when the signal drops

The two questions this page exists to answer, per vendor. Read the second column for the site cap as much as the offline answer: a product that works perfectly at three addresses and stops at the eleventh is a worse buy for a field team than a slower product with no ceiling.

How this list was ranked

By fit for staff who are never at one address: how many distinct sites you may define, whether a punch survives a network drop, and what a continuous trail costs on top. That is capacity and continuity, which is a different question from our GPS comparison, which ranks by which tier gates which kind of location proof.

  • Anti-spoofing is deliberately not a ranking axis. No vendor here, ourselves included, publishes a claim about mock-location detection that could be verified. Ranking on an axis where every figure would be marketing copy is how these pages become worthless, so it is discussed in the entries and not scored.
  • We quote our own expensive plan on this page. Our Rs 5,999 band covers 3 locations, which is wrong for a field team, so the table uses the Rs 14,999 unlimited-locations plan. Quoting the cheaper number would have flattered our row and made the page useless.
  • A missing feature is reported as unpublished, not as absent. Where a vendor’s pricing page says nothing about offline capture, the entry says no offline capability is published. That is not the same as saying it does not exist, and the difference is the reader’s question to ask, not ours to answer for them.
  • Seat floors are priced in, not footnoted. Zimyo, HROne, factoHR and greytHR bill a block of roughly 50 seats. Field crews are often exactly the size where that bites hardest, so the affected rows show what 25 people actually pay.

The question that eliminates most of this list

How many different addresses will your team stand at this year?

Under about ten, you do not have a field problem, you have a multi-site problem, and most of this list solves it cheaply. Our Rs 5,999 band and Connecteam Advanced both cover you, and you should not be reading a page that quotes the expensive tiers.

Over about ten, and especially if the list keeps growing, the site cap becomes the only number that matters and it is the one nobody advertises. Ask every vendor for it in writing before you compare anything else, then ask what happens to a punch made with no signal. Those two answers will eliminate most of this page for you faster than any price comparison.

Shiftelio

Cheapest unlimited-site setup with offline capture

Teams whose staff are at a different address every day.

Shiftelio billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingFlat annual price by headcount band: Rs 999, Rs 5,999 or Rs 14,999 a year, with no per-seat charge and no seat floor. Note which one this page quotes: a genuine field team needs unlimited sites, and that is the Rs 14,999 plan, not the Rs 5,999 one we quote everywhere else.

25 staff, per yearRs 14,999 for the unlimited-locations plan a field team actually needs
SourceOur own pricing page, and our own source tree for the capability claims. Both checkable, and the second is why this entry claims less than our marketing pages do.

Choose it when

Your people visit many addresses and you need every one of them geofenced without paying per site. At Rs 14,999 for 25 people that is Rs 600 per employee per year with offline capture, a live map and selfie verification in it. The nearest rival that publishes both unlimited sites and offline capture is HROne at Rs 59,400, and Connecteam only removes its site cap on its top tier.

Look elsewhere when

You need device-level mock-location detection. We do not do it, and we are saying so on the page where it matters most rather than in a footnote: our verification is a selfie plus a trail you can inspect, which raises the cost of cheating without making it impossible. Some of our own marketing pages currently claim otherwise and they are wrong; we are fixing them. If defeating a determined spoofing app is your actual requirement, ask every vendor here to demonstrate it on a rooted phone before you believe any of us. You should also look elsewhere if you want a full HRMS, which we do not build.

Disclosure: this is our product and this page is on our website, which is exactly why the criterion is written out above, why every rival figure is dated and sourced, and why the paragraph above this one exists. Our prices are on the pricing page and there is nothing behind a "contact us". How we rank is set out on the methodology page. We also state plainly above that we do not do device-level mock-location detection, and that some of our own marketing pages currently claim we do.

HROne

The only rival that publishes offline attendance in its base tier

A full Indian HRMS for a field-heavy business of fifty people or more.

HROne billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingBasic Rs 4,950 a month covering 50 users, then Rs 99 per user. Professional Rs 6,500 covering 50 users, then Rs 130. Their page does not say whether that is monthly or annual billing.
LocationGeo-tagging, geo-fencing, selfie attendance and offline attendance are all four in Basic. No site cap is published either way, which is worth asking about before signing rather than assuming.
25 staff, per yearRs 59,400, because the Rs 4,950 buys a 50-user block whether you have 50 or 25
Sourcehrone.cloud/pricing, read in full August 2026. No bot wall. Add-ons are unpriced.

Choose it when

Your field team is part of a larger workforce you already want one HRMS for, and you are at or above fifty people. Offline attendance in a base tier is genuinely rare: it is the single most important feature on this page and HROne is the only competitor here that publishes it at all. That is worth a lot more than a marginally cheaper geofence.

Look elsewhere when

You have 25 people. The 50-user block makes it Rs 2,376 per employee per year against the Rs 1,188 implied, which is nearly four times our Rs 600 for a comparable job. Two things to confirm in writing: whether there is a cap on the number of sites, since the page does not say, and whether the quoted price is monthly or annual, since the page does not say that either.

Connecteam

Best toolkit around the attendance, for teams that need more than a punch

Running a deskless field operation: jobs, forms, checklists and messaging.

Connecteam billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingPer hub, not per user. Operations Hub at $29, $49 or $99 a month billed yearly, each including the first 30 users. Free up to 10 users.

Advanced adds geofencing but caps it at 10 sites, which a contractor working thirty client addresses will exhaust in the first month. Only Expert removes the cap, and Expert is where a field team has to start.
25 staff, per year$1,188 on Expert, the only tier with unlimited geofence sites. 25 users sit inside the 30 included
Sourceconnecteam.com/pricing read August 2026, corroborated against a screenshot of the live page.

Choose it when

The punch is the least interesting thing you need. If your field staff also complete job forms, tick safety checklists, follow shift instructions and message a dispatcher, this is a far more complete field-operations product than anything else here, and the bundled-seat model means 25 people cost the same as 30.

Look elsewhere when

You need Indian payroll, or you were about to buy Advanced. There is no Indian statutory payroll of any kind: the payroll integration page lists ADP products only, with no mention of India, EPF, ESI, professional tax or Form 16. And the 10-site cap on Advanced is exactly the trap this page exists to warn about, because Advanced is the tier a buyer comparing prices will choose. No INR price either, so you are paying in dollars.

Kredily

Cheapest continuous trail in India, if nobody carries an iPhone

Watching a route rather than verifying an arrival.

Kredily billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingFree forever at Rs 0 with no employee limit. Payroll OS Rs 1,249 a month and Professional Rs 1,749 a month, each covering 25 employees.
LocationSelfie and GPS attendance start at Professional. Continuous Live Tracking is a further Rs 50 per user per month, and their own comparison table marks it Android only.
25 staff, per yearRs 35,988 for Professional plus continuous live tracking. Rs 20,988 without the trail
Sourcekredily.com/pricing including the plan matrix and the add-on rows beneath it, read August 2026.

Choose it when

A continuous trail is the actual requirement and your field staff are all on Android. Rs 50 per user per month is by a wide margin the cheapest live tracking on this page, against Rs 140 at greytHR and $2 at Buddy Punch. Kredily is also the only vendor here whose free tier has no headcount cap, so it costs nothing to trial the rest of the product first.

Look elsewhere when

One person carries an iPhone. Kredily marks Continuous Live Tracking as Android only on its own table, and a trail with a hole in it is not evidence, it is an argument waiting to happen in a disciplinary meeting. Check that first, because nothing else about the product matters if it is true for your team. There is also no published offline capability, which for field work is the second question to ask.

Buddy Punch

Cleanest way to buy real-time tracking for only the people who need it

Hourly field crews, priced à la carte.

Buddy Punch billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingA $19.00 a month base fee on every plan, plus $4.99, $6.99 or $12.99 per user a month on annual billing. No free tier. These figures are approximate: see the source note in the table.
LocationStarter gives coordinates, with geofences as an add-on whose price is not published. Pro includes coordinates and geofences. Real-Time GPS is $2 per user a month on Starter and Pro, and included on Enterprise.
25 staff, per yearAbout $2,925 on Pro with real-time GPS. About $2,325 without the trail
Sourcebuddypunch.com/pricing returns 403 to automated fetches, so these come from docs.buddypunch.com. Two direct fetches disagreed with search-cached copies of the same articles by a dollar per user, so treat the row as approximate and confirm in a browser.

Choose it when

You want to add live tracking for the eight people who are genuinely mobile without moving the whole company up a tier. That granularity is unusual and it is the right shape for a business where only part of the workforce is in the field.

Look elsewhere when

You are in India. No INR price, no Indian statutory payroll mentioned anywhere, and the $19 monthly base fee is a surcharge that falls hardest on small teams. There is also no published offline capability, and the tier that would be cheapest cannot even be costed because its geofence add-on has no published price.

6 of 9

Zimyo

Cheapest geofence once you are genuinely at fifty people

A full HRMS for a larger field-heavy business.

Zimyo billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingBasic Rs 80, Standard Rs 160, Enterprise Rs 240 per user per month, with a minimum of 50 users on every tier stated on their own page. No free tier, 14-day trial.
LocationGeotagging and geofencing are both in Basic. Selfie attendance is Standard-tier only, at double the per-user rate. No offline capability is published, and no site cap is published either way.
25 staff, per yearRs 48,000 for the geofence alone. Rs 96,000 with the selfie, because that moves everybody to Standard
Sourcezimyo.com/pricing, read in full August 2026, including the stated 50-user minimum.

Choose it when

You have fifty or more field staff and want one HRMS for everything. At exactly 50 users, Basic is Rs 48,000 a year with geofencing included, which is a genuinely strong number for a complete HRMS.

Look elsewhere when

You need the selfie, or you have fewer than fifty people. The 50-user minimum means a 25-person business pays Rs 1,920 per employee against an advertised Rs 960, and the selfie sitting on Standard means you cannot buy it only for the field team, you move the whole company. For field work specifically, the absence of any published offline capability is the bigger gap.

7 of 9

greytHR

Deepest Indian payroll behind the field attendance

Serious statutory payroll, with field attendance attached.

greytHR billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingEssential Rs 2,495 and Growth Rs 4,495 a month, each bundling 50 employees, then Rs 45 and Rs 85 above 50. No free plan, seven-day trial.
LocationGrowth includes geofencing in its attendance module. GPS live tracking is a separate Rs 140 per user per month add-on, on Growth and Premium only.
25 staff, per yearRs 95,940 with the live-tracking add-on switched on. Rs 53,940 without it
Sourcegreythr.com/pricing, read August 2026.

Choose it when

The hard part of your month is PF, ESI, professional tax and Form 16 rather than knowing where the van is. On statutory depth it beats most of this list, and the geofence coming with the tier rather than as an add-on is a point in its favour.

Look elsewhere when

The trail is the reason you are buying. Rs 140 per user per month is Rs 42,000 a year at 25 people for live tracking alone, which is nearly three times our entire unlimited-site subscription. The 50-employee bundle applies here too, and no offline capability is published.

8 of 9

factoHR

Face recognition in the field without buying hardware

A full HRMS with biometric-grade verification bolted on.

factoHR billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingFree up to 20 employees. Core Rs 4,999, Premium Rs 5,999, Ultimate Rs 6,999 a month, each covering up to 50 employees. INR plans billed quarterly.
LocationGeo-Fence is not in Core; it starts at Premium. Selfie Punch and Face Recognition are separate add-ons at $0.5 and $1 per employee per month, priced in dollars on a rupee price list. No offline capability is published.
25 staff, per yearRs 71,988 on Premium, plus about $300 a year if you want face recognition
Sourcefactohr.com/pricing, read in full August 2026. No bot wall.

Choose it when

You want a face check rather than a selfie somebody reviews later, and you do not want a machine at a gate you no longer have. At $1 per employee per month that is the cheapest route to face verification here.

Look elsewhere when

You are watching the total, or you work where the network does not. Rs 71,988 is the most expensive geofence in rupees on this page, largely because the base fee buys 50 employees regardless. The free tier excludes attendance entirely so it is no starting point, and a dollar-priced add-on on a rupee plan moves with the exchange rate.

9 of 9

Clockify

Best for billing client hours from the field

Knowing which hours went to which client, with a map for context.

Clockify billing, location verification and annual cost
BillingFree up to 5 users. Basic $3.99, Standard $5.49, Pro $7.99, Enterprise $11.99 per seat per month annually. No seat minimum. No INR.
LocationGPS requires Pro or Enterprise. What you get is location history and current position on a map. Their GPS documentation never mentions geofencing, so boundary enforcement is unconfirmed rather than known to be absent.
25 staff, per year$2,397 on Pro for location history. No priced geofence exists to cost
Sourceclockify.me/pricing plus Clockify’s own subscription-plans and GPS help articles, read August 2026.

Choose it when

Your field staff are consultants or engineers whose time is billed to clients, and the map is context rather than evidence. For that job it is well built, and the absence of a seat minimum makes it unusually flexible for a small mobile team.

Look elsewhere when

You need to refuse a punch made at the wrong address. It sits last here because location history is the weakest form of field evidence and because the stronger form may not exist in the product. No Indian statutory payroll either: nothing on its pricing pages mentions EPF, ESI, professional tax or Form 16.

Questions people ask before choosing

What is the best attendance app for field staff in India?

For a team visiting many addresses, the two questions that decide it are how many sites you may define and what happens when the signal drops. Shiftelio gives unlimited sites with offline queueing and selfie verification on its Rs 14,999 plan, which is Rs 600 per employee per year at 25 people, and we make it, so the comparison rather than the claim: HROne is Rs 59,400 and is the only competitor here that publishes offline attendance at all, Connecteam only removes its 10-site cap on its top tier at $1,188, and Kredily reaches Rs 35,988 once the live trail is added. If your field staff also fill in job forms and follow dispatch instructions, Connecteam is a far more complete field-operations product than any of them.

Which attendance apps work offline in the field?

Almost none of them say. Shiftelio queues punches on the device and syncs when signal returns, and HROne lists offline attendance in Basic. Those are the only two on this page where offline capture is either implemented in code we can point at or published in the plan structure. For the other seven, no offline capability appears anywhere in the pricing pages we read, which is not proof they lack it but does mean you should ask and get the answer in writing. This matters more than buyers expect: a basement, a lift shaft, a construction site or a rural route will lose signal at exactly the moment somebody is trying to clock in, and an app that simply fails then produces an argument instead of a record.

How many sites or geofences can I set up?

Check this before anything else, because it is capped more often than buyers realise and the cap is rarely in the headline. Connecteam allows 10 geofence sites on Advanced and removes the cap only on Expert, so a contractor working thirty client addresses must buy the top tier. Shiftelio caps at 1 location on its Rs 999 band and 3 on its Rs 5,999 band, with unlimited sites only on the Rs 14,999 plan, which is why this page quotes Rs 14,999 while our other comparisons quote Rs 5,999. Zimyo, HROne, greytHR, factoHR, Kredily and Buddy Punch publish no site cap either way, so ask them directly rather than assuming unlimited.

Can field staff fake GPS attendance with a mock location app?

Yes, and you should be sceptical of any vendor that tells you otherwise without demonstrating it. We will be direct about our own product: Shiftelio does not do device-level mock-location detection. What it does is pair the location with a selfie and keep a processed trail you can inspect, which raises the effort of cheating without making it impossible. No vendor on this page publishes a verifiable claim about spoof detection either, which is why this list is not ranked on it. If defeating a determined spoofing app is genuinely your requirement, ask every vendor including us to demonstrate it on a rooted Android phone before you believe anybody.

How much does live GPS tracking cost for field staff in India?

It is priced separately from the geofence almost everywhere and it is the most expensive line on this page. Kredily is Rs 50 per user per month, marked Android only on their own table. greytHR is Rs 140 per user per month, which is Rs 42,000 a year at 25 people on its own. Buddy Punch is $2 per user per month on Starter and Pro and included on Enterprise. Before buying any of them, be sure a continuous trail is what you need rather than a verified arrival: a trail is a much bigger promise to your staff about what you record all day, and it is the feature people actually object to.

Why does this page quote a different Shiftelio price from your other comparisons?

Because a field team needs a different plan. Our Rs 5,999 band covers 3 locations, which is right for a business with three branches and wrong for one visiting thirty client sites. Unlimited locations is the Rs 14,999 plan, so that is the figure in this table. Quoting the cheaper number here would have made our row look better and made the page useless, which is the trade this cluster is built to refuse.

Why does a 25-person field team pay for 50 employees?

Because Zimyo, HROne, factoHR and greytHR all price around a block of roughly 50 seats and charge for the block whether you fill it or not. Zimyo states a 50-user minimum on every tier, so its advertised Rs 80 per user is really Rs 160 at 25 people. HROne’s Rs 4,950 covers 50 users, making 25 people Rs 2,376 each rather than Rs 1,188. Field teams are often exactly the size where this bites hardest, because a mobile crew of fifteen or twenty is a common shape and it pays for fifty.

How was this list ordered?

By fit for staff who are never at one address, judged on the number of distinct sites you may define, whether punches survive a network drop, and what a continuous trail costs. It is deliberately not ordered on anti-spoofing, because no vendor here publishes a claim about it that could be verified, our own marketing included. Jibble, ubiAttendance, StaffApp and Spintly were left out because no figure for them could be read first hand.

Work the numbers yourself

The compliance arithmetic is the same whichever you pick, and it is free to check. These calculators show their working as text, with no signup and no email.

Other comparisons on this site

Each of these ranks against a different question, so they reach different answers. The one you want is the one whose question is yours.

The criteria this list is ordered by, what counts as a source, and how often the figures are re-checked are set out on our methodology page. Plan structures, seat minimums, site caps and add-on prices were checked in August 2026against each vendor's own published pricing page, except Buddy Punch, whose pricing page blocks automated reads and whose figures come from its own help centre and are marked approximate. Where an entry says no offline capability is published, that means the vendor's pricing pages do not mention one, not that the product lacks it. Jibble, ubiAttendance, StaffApp and Spintly were considered and left out because no figure for them could be read first hand. Dollar figures are the vendors' own published prices and are deliberately not converted to rupees. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; no affiliation or endorsement is implied. Shiftelio is our own product, is marked as such, and its entry above states a capability we do not have and that our own marketing wrongly claims. If you believe anything here is inaccurate, write to support@shiftelio.com and we will correct it and say that we did.
