Can one advance be split between several employees living in the same accommodation?
Yes. In Shiftelio you create the house as a group, add the people living in it, and record one advance to that house. The total is split to the paisa across the current residents, and each resident’s share becomes their own advance, deducted from their own salary over the number of instalments you choose. Any personal advance a resident already has is recovered before their share of the house advance.
How do I collect a new joiner’s details and documents in one place?
Shiftelio has a guided 5-step onboarding wizard that collects employee details and documents. ID documents can be scanned and parsed automatically, and every employee record stores documents centrally.
How do I generate an offer letter, appointment letter or experience letter as a PDF?
Shiftelio generates them as professional A4 PDFs with your business branding, repeating headers, and page numbering: offer letters, appointment letters, warnings, and experience certificates.
How do employees apply for leave and how does it reach payroll?
Employees request leave from the Shiftelio app, managers approve or reject with one tap (including via Telegram), and approved leave flows straight into attendance and payroll calculations.

Yes. Shiftelio sends attendance events over WhatsApp and Telegram as well as push notifications on Android and iOS: an absent alert, a late check-in alert, and check-in and check-out updates. Telegram also carries approval workflows so owners can approve leave or attendance corrections without opening the app.
Is any of this available in Hindi and other Indian languages?
Yes. The Shiftelio website and product marketing are available in 9 Indian languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Punjabi.
Can I assign daily or weekly tasks to staff and check they were actually done?
Yes. Shiftelio lets you build reusable task templates with your own form fields, set them to repeat daily, weekly or monthly, and assign them to specific staff. Employees submit from the app, with photo proof where you require it, and you approve, reject or send a task back for review.
Can I make an employee complete a checklist before they clock in?
Yes. Any task can be marked as blocking and shown at check-in, so the employee cannot start their shift until it is done. You can attach written instructions and a reference photo, and optionally block the next check-in until the previous one is completed.
Can staff claim an expense by photographing the receipt?
Yes. Employees photograph a receipt and Shiftelio reads it automatically using Azure Document Intelligence. Merchant, date, amounts and line items are extracted, and the category is suggested for them. You can approve in full, approve part of a claim, or reject it, and track the reimbursement through to payment.
Can I give a manager access without making them an owner?
Yes, and this is per-action rather than one blanket "manager" role. You create roles that grant exactly what you choose: view attendance but not payroll, approve leave but not expenses. Each role carries a power level that decides which other roles it may hand out. New permissions are always off by default, so nothing is granted by accident.
Can I see where my staff are right now?
Yes. The live map shows the position of everyone currently clocked in, so you can see field staff and multi-site teams in real time. Location is only tracked while an employee is on the clock.
Where can I see attendance and labour cost trends over time?
Shiftelio has a business-wide analytics section that charts attendance patterns, labour cost and workforce trends over time, so you can see where hours and money are actually going rather than reconstructing it from spreadsheets.
Can I send announcements to my whole team?
Yes. The company feed is a shared noticeboard your staff see in the app. Post announcements to everyone, and moderate or take down any post as the owner.

Is there a mobile app for Android and iPhone?
Yes. Shiftelio ships as native Android and iOS apps as well as the web app, with push notifications, camera-based selfie check-in and background location for attendance. The same account works everywhere.
Where are employee bank and UPI details stored?
Payment details live on the employee record, can be entered individually or in bulk, and can be locked behind a second approval so the person entering them is not the person signing them off.
What if an attendance record is wrong?
A manager with the right permission can correct a clock-in or clock-out, and the correction is kept on the record rather than overwriting history. Corrected attendance flows straight back into the payroll calculation.
Can I export my data from Shiftelio?
Yes. Attendance, payroll, and employee data can be exported (CSV/Excel) at any time on every plan, including after cancellation. Your data always belongs to you.
